But There’s So Many Options!

How do you choose the right contractor? How do you narrow down your options? Why are all the prices so different from each other? There is a lot of questions people ask when looking for the right contractor for the job. Truth of the matter is, the contractor that you like the most, will have the most impact on who you choose to go with. Not just because they are the cheapest or the most expensive. Genuinely being able to trust your contractor is a huge part of finding the right one. If you have a gut feeling about not choosing a certain contractor but you just can’t put your finger on it, chances are you’re probably right, that contractor probably isn’t right for you.

You might also notice you are getting a wide variety of prices and quotes for your job. A lot of people have this idea that the lowest cost is the worst and the highest price is the best. While it tends to be true that the lowest price usually isn’t going to give you the best work, overpaying for the most expensive person isn’t always going to give you the best either.

The best thing you can do is get multiple bids, if one bid is extremely lower or higher than the other, make sure to ask why. Take note of their communication style and how upfront they are, meet with them in person, and get a good judgement on their character to see if they are someone who you would enjoy working with.
